Occupational Outlook Report
Meeting the Training Needs of San Diego Employers. Customized Training is training that is designed to meet the special requirements of an employer. The training is conducted with a commitment by the employer to employ, or in the case of incumbent workers, continue to employ, an individual upon the successful completion of training for which the employer pays for no less than 50% of cost of the training.
The purpose of On-the-Job Training ( OJT) funding is to create jobs, strengthen businesses, and assist those most impacted in today’s economy. OJT is a business service which offers an employer reimbursement for hiring an eligible job seeker or current employee who is almost perfect, but is lacking a skill, or set of skills, AND is willing to train them on the job.
OJT offers a cash reimbursement of 50% of the wages or salaries earned by eligible new workers.
Allows business to hire and train individuals, creating jobs for our region.
