OJT offers a cash reimbursement of 50% of the wages or salaries earned by eligible new workers after the training period. Training is funded by the Department of Labor through the San Diego Workforce Partnership.
Here’s how the OJT works: the employer selects a worker who has already been pre-screened according to the employer specifications, and the Business Services Coordinator manages all the paperwork and compliance procedures. ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT)
The purpose of On-the-Job Training ( OJT) funding is to create jobs, strengthen businesses, and assist those most impacted in today’s economy.
Under an established OJT agreement between the North County Career Centers and an employer, North County Career Centers agrees to a training plan for the employee and a wage reimbursement for the employer. Training must be separate and different from the training and orientation that the employer routinely provides to new employees.
